Connect to a Family Photo Buddy Server

Family Photo Buddy Server is a separate program that runs to "serve up" a Family Photo Buddy database. It allows many people to share or collaberate on the same picture database. See the Share Pictures page for information about running your own Family Photo Buddy Server. The instructions below assume you already know the name or address of the server you are connecting to.

To connect to (open) a Family Photo Buddy Server, start Family Photo Buddy, and choose Open Server Database... from the File menu.

A window like below opens.

1) Select the network protocol. For example, use TPC/IP for Internet connections.

2) Type in the Server Name or (IP) address of the server computer you are connecting to.

3) Click the Verify Server button which will try to open the server. If all is well, you will get a 'Server verified' message. Otherwise you'll get an error message.

4) After the server is verified, you will see a list of databases on that server. Choose one in the Database Name list and click OK to open it.
